Otium provides emergency and respite accommodation for children and young people, with a focus on leisure and recreational activity. Our vision is to provide consistent, safe, quality and impactful care, enriching the lives of the young people who come to us.

That work depends entirely on the people who do it. Our team is trained, skilled and experienced in building positive, trusting relationships with young people, their families and partner services. We work to a therapeutic, child centred approach built on connection before correction, which means understanding a young person’s experiences first and helping them settle before anything else.

Young people often arrive at a point of crisis. They need people who stay calm, listen properly and turn up when it matters. If you can do that, we can teach you the rest. Training and supervision are provided, and there is a clear route to progress.
